XPeng's robotics unit raises $900M+ at a $6.3B valuation
XPeng's robot unit (Dogotix) took in over $900M led by IDG Capital, with Tencent and Alibaba, valuing it above $6.3B, the largest single private round in China's embodied AI to date. XPeng aims to build 1,000 IRON humanoids a month by end of 2026, with commercial deliveries in 2027, so this is a mass-production bet, not a shipping product yet. Its IRON has 76 body degrees of freedom (independent joints) and runs XPeng's own chips.

At Beijing's robot games, an AI-trained runner invented a gait no engineer designed
X-Humanoid's robot dropped its programmed human-style arm swing during reinforcement-learning training (learning by trial in simulation) and settled on a novel forward-pitched form, winning the 400m in 45.66 seconds. The games also saw a 9.39-second 100m, beating Bolt's 9.58. The concrete point: RL is now finding physical solutions designers never anticipated, and the scenario events (factory, hospital, retail) work as a public audit of what these machines still cannot do alone.

Magic Core raises 500M yuan ($74M) for 4D world models
The Chinese startup raised about $74M at a near 4B-yuan valuation, its fourth round in eight months, backed by Huawei's Hubble, SMIC Capital, and state funds. A world model is software that predicts how a scene changes when a robot acts, the layer that lets robots plan. Chipmakers and state capital piling into this points to where China is placing its robot-software bets.
